National Cyber Director of Estonia, Liisa Past (MA) focuses on protecting the infrastructure of democracy in the digital world and securing our increasingly electronic way of life. As the CISO of the IT and Development Centre at the Estonian Ministry of the Interior, she was responsible for mainstreaming information security practices across technology that saves lives in homeland security, including ISO 27001 compliance, introducing a SOC to consolidate numerous information sources.
Joe Slowik is a cyber threat intelligence and incident response leader with over 10 years experience across multiple roles in the U.S. government and commercial sector performing cyberthreat intelligence research, incident response, and threat hunting operations. Currently Joe Slowik leads intelligence and detection operations at Gigamon.
Joe focuses on applied network defense concepts while continuing long-form research into cyber norms and critical infrastructure threats. Past experience covers domains ranging from offensive security to industrial control systems (ICS) to free-form threat intelligence research. Joe is always open and seeking opportunities for collaboration, research, and resolving long-standing problems in the network security space.

Dr. Lilly has 15+ years of experience in defense and cybersecurity. She is the head of the geostrategic risk at the Krebs Stamos Group. Prior to KSG, she was a manager in Deloitte Risk & Financial Advisory, where she helped clients in the technology, telecommunications, and financial industries to detect, respond and recover from ransomware threats. Dr. Lilly was a cybersecurity expert, and now she is an adjunct researcher at the RAND Corporation. She led a team that designed a threat-based risk assessment tool to identify vulnerabilities in U.S. election infrastructure and offer mitigation policies for the U.S. Department of Homeland Security. Also, she initiated and led a multi-year project where a team of researchers designed an artificial intelligence model to detect Russian trolls on social media platforms.
Our next guest is a very close friend of Ukrainian cybersecurity community, Dr. Kenneth Geers. Some know him from UISGCON, some now him from KNU, some know him by his books, some know him from international conferences as BlackHat or CyCon.
Kenneth Geers, Ph.D., is an External Communications Analyst at Very Good Security. Dr. Geers served for 20 years in the US Government: in the Army, National Security Agency (NSA), Naval Criminal Investigative Service (NCIS), and NATO. Gears is a Fellow at the Atlantic Council, NATO Cyber Centre, and Digital Society Institute-Berlin. He is the author of Strategic Cyber Security, editor of Cyber War in Perspective and The Virtual Battlefield, technical expert to the Tallinn Manual, and author of dozens articles and chapters on cyber conflicts.
Joe Gray is a veteran of the U.S. Navy Submarine Force; he is the Founder and Principal Instructor at The OSINTion and the Founder and Lead Investigator at Transparent Intelligence Services. As a member of the Password Inspection Agency, Joe has consistently performed well in Capture the Flag events. Specifically those involving OSINT. In addition to identifying hundreds of security flaws in a good chunk of the software that powers the Internet, his notable infosec works include projects such as the American Fuzzy Lop and P0f v3, as well as the famous books “Silence on the Wire,” “The Tangled Web,” and the new 2022 book “Practical Doomsday,” which deals with risk management beyond cybersecurity and teaches threat modeling in real life.
With more than 20 years of professional cybersecurity experience, Katie Moussouris has a unique and unparalleled perspective on security research, incident response, vulnerability disclosure, and bug bounty programs. Katie currently serves as the founder and CEO of Luta Security. During her tenure with Microsoft, Katie’s work included industry-leading initiatives such as starting Microsoft Vulnerability Research, which formalized multiparty vulnerability and supply chain vulnerability coordination across hardware and software as well as launching Microsoft’s first bug bounty program. Katie is the co-author and co-editor of ISO 29147 (vulnerability disclosure) and ISO 30111 (vulnerability handling processes).
